Math Wizard teaches adults maths: GCSE resits, Functional Skills Levels 1 and 2, numeracy tests for job applications and training courses, and Access to Higher Education maths. Lessons are 1-to-1 at £60–£80 per hour or in small groups at £40 per student, run online across the UK at times that fit around work. There is no contract and no minimum number of lessons.
What Adults Usually Need Maths For
Almost always one of these four, and almost always with a deadline attached.
A GCSE resit
A grade 4 in maths is a requirement for a lot of teacher training, nursing, midwifery and access courses, and plenty of careers have a maths GCSE sitting quietly in the entry criteria. Adults can and do resit as private candidates.
Functional Skills Level 1 or 2
A practical alternative to GCSE, accepted by many employers and apprenticeships, focused on using maths in real situations rather than on algebra for its own sake. For many adults it is the faster and more sensible route.
A job or training entry test
Numeracy assessments for the emergency services, the armed forces, nursing, apprenticeships and graduate schemes. Usually timed, usually mental-arithmetic-heavy, and usually failed on speed rather than understanding.
Going back to study
Access to HE courses, a degree with an unexpected quantitative module, or supporting your own children and finding you cannot remember any of it. All completely normal reasons.

How This Is Different From Tutoring a Teenager
You almost certainly know more than you think. Most adults arriving here can do far more maths than they believe. The difficulty is usually a handful of specific gaps – often fractions, negatives or algebra – sitting under everything else and making all of it feel impossible. Find those, and the rest moves quickly.
Nobody is going to make you feel stupid. A lot of adults carry a bad experience of school maths, sometimes a very specific memory of a particular teacher. That is common enough to be unremarkable here.
Evenings, and around work. Sessions are scheduled to fit your life, online, and can be moved with 12 hours’ notice.
You decide the pace and the endpoint. Some people want six lessons before a specific test. Some want to work steadily for a year. There is no contract and no minimum, so either is fine.
Who teaches your lessons
A maths specialist – someone who teaches maths and no other subject, works from the same worksheets you can read on this site, and follows the same method with every student.
You are told exactly who your tutor is before the first lesson, never after. That lesson is half price, with no contract, so if the match is not right you have lost one half-price hour and nothing else.

The rate depends on level – A Level and Advanced Higher sit at the upper end. There is no registration fee, no minimum package, and no charge for the worksheets or materials.
